1st day of 2nd semester

So I didn't get some of the classes I needed because Citrus people misinformed me, stupid people! I tried to crash some classes today. The science classes were crazy full and a ton of people wanted to crash. The stupid thing (okay not that stupid) is that they add people based on a lottery system. Thing is, I have incredibly horrible luck for raffles, lotteries, anything that is left up to chance. I wasted a lot of hours today. I left my house before 10:30am and got back around 6:30pm. That's me only going to one required class. I really hate wasting time LIKE THAT.

I also left my cellphone and iPod touch at home. If I didn't have my nano I'd be screwed.

One good part, I had a cheeseburger from Owl Cafe. Their cheeseburgers are so amazing. Or maybe that was the starvation talking hahaha! I didn't eat anything until 1pm and nothing again until I came home.

I don't have any classes I'm enrolled in for Thursday, BUT I have to keep trying to crash classes, so I'm going to stay at Citrus from 11am to past 7pm to try to crash classes.

Crashing classes is too insane. All the science classes I'm trying to get into are dominated by people who want to get into a nursing program. Stupid economy being broken. One girl I talked to said she was enrolled into a class I was trying to crash and she said she was taking it because she got a D the preview semester. It sort of pissed me off even though there isn't a real reason to be pissed off at that idea.

Geez my life is sooo boring.

concussion?

So i was washing my porch doors and windows and forgot that water plus porch equals slippery. I have 3 steps to the porch, i was standing on the top stair and slipped backwards and fell. Really scary because i wasn't expecting it. I go into the house and tell my mom because i feel really weird.

I sat on the bathroom floor and almost blacked out. My mom was yelling at me and it sort of feltlike when you wake up from a dream, sort of groggy feeling. I felt the pain of falling when it happened but not later, is that weird? I was super dizzy and felt like throwing up. i hate nauseau. I'm writing this so i don't forget, i've already had to fix like a bunch of typos i made.

My neck sorta has a knot in it, probably from tensing up. After i told my mom, she was asking/yelling if i hit my head and i honestly didn't know. I still don't know, i just don't think so. i have some cuts on my right hand. my hurt so i don't' want to touch tthem. i still feel kind of dizzy or fuzzy headed.

I don't think i have a concussion, i've just never really fallen like that, ever. If anything, things like bruises will show up later. I realized that i hit my left inner elbow and my left ribs. my left ribs have my tattoo must rememebr not to show my mom that side.

I feel really sleepy but i feel like i can't because all those movies and tv shows make the injured person not fall asleep.

Weird dream

Last night/this morning I had a super weird dream.

Ann, another person possibly Mika and I were driving somewhere but we got out early because we could walk the rest of the way. It wasn't too far. We passed by some pretty awesome flower/garden arrangements, they remind me of those knitted sweaters with pictures but made of flowers and huge.

We get to where we were supposed to go. It is eerily silent, no birds, no noise. We walk on this big ramp into the building. Through the doors was a hallway like in hospitals but more narrow. Stuff is scattered on the ground, not a good sign. A nurse run up to us asking for help in looking for something but to also be careful.

We got the impression that something was possessing people for some reason. We find the person who is possessed but the thing/parasite drops off of the guy and runs away. It's not too big, probably the size of a scorpion. The guy regains himself and helps us look for the parasite. It's kind of scary, since we don't have anything to arm ourself with.

We get some buckets to trap it. I find a clear plastic vase thing. I spot it and try to trap it, the nurse says that the clear vase/buckets don't work. Eventually someone catches it, everyone is happy, townspeople come out to celebrate. I think my mind got bored and ended that story.

But my mind continues on to an odd story. So the townspeople come out and are happy. Somehow Mary appears there too. The townspeople are especially happy because some celebrity shows up. Apparently I go into my "i'm awkward around celebrities" behavior. In my dream I am sort of stunned, too stunned to move.

So Mary takes my arms from behind and walks me to the line so i can meet this guy. It's like the game Cranium where you move your partner's limbs so they can figure out what you're trying to convey. Then I woke up. Weird dreams.

Acting gig 2

Earlier this week on Tuesday i decide to randomly call to see what kind of work they were offering for acting. Usually they try to book for the next day, so I was surprised that they were booking for Friday. I fit all the criteria and called. AND I GOT IT! I was sooo excited!

I try to call and text cynthia for the longest time but she didn't answer, turns out she was writing her paper. Well the next day she tries to get the job and she gets it. We both are excited but the night before the people call her and cancel it for her. SAD. That really sucks.

The role i played this time was a high school student.

The place was kind of far away in Tarzana. I drove there expecting traffic but there's no traffic and i get there 30mins early. We had to bring 2 whole outfits, but it is because they might have not liked what we were wearing. I even brought pants! Well i only had to change my shirt, they like magenta. Not going to lie, wearing a long sleeve tee and standing in the sun is really hot. Luckily we were just in a holding area for 30mins. We walk to a middle school. Portola middle school, oh SB.

They make us sit outside under some tents but it is still hot so they move us into some classrooms. Way better. Crazy thing is that i saw my next door neighbor, he also had this gig. We should have carpooled hahaha! So we just waited in the class room for about 2 hours then a break for lunch for an hour. Then more waiting and we finally start filming at 5pm, i got there at 12:30.

While we were in holding some girls kept singing Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" and played it on their phone. That song is so darn catchy, before you know it me and this guy kept singing it. That song kept me going while filming.

For one set they made me do a "Suicide" where i cut between the main actors and the camera. YAY! Facetime on TV! The filming took about 2.5 hours. We were all glad to get out of there. I wish they fed us after hahaha!

OHH! Also while filming this guy was walking down the hall and out the door but SMACKS into the pole in between. EVERYONE started laughing really hard but we couldn't make noise so we were all laughing silently. I started sweating because i can't release my laugher. At the time the camera was filming far away but the cameraman saw it and asked if he was okay and he was. It was just really funny.

Also i noticed out "high school" don't have fat people, that was weird.

ALSO, i got a 3rd gen ipod touch for free and that makes me excited! Too bad stuff only works with wifi but it will come in handy at comic con.

Additional acting bits

Just remembered stuff from acting the other day. They provided snack-ies and i randomly grabbed a donut, i was pleasantly surprised by the blueberry jam filling, NOM! Also some guy came up to me cuz i was reading a physical geography book. He was kind of cute but he is Australian. He was trying to get rid of his accent, which is sad. He also told me he used to be a Genetics major, what a surprise but graduated with science journalism. He was nice and interesting but a bit weird.

Also I'm pretty sure i'm going to start using a call-in service to get acting jobs during my winter break. I have a really long break so I can work during the weekday. I'm pretty excited about this, I've always loved TV now i get to be on TV and get paid doing it.

First day of paid acting/extra

Last night i got a call from my acting agency, they wanted my car and me to be in some new show. This is the first time I've been contacted instead of me calling-in. I figure i can just miss a day of class, I'm getting an A in that class anyways. Thing is, call time is at 6am, so i have to be there at 6am. I finally go to sleep at midnight, I'm nervous and excited, my first ever gig!

I wake up at 4:45am get ready and drive all the way to LA. There was actually some traffic at 5:30am, crazy crazy. I drive around downtown LA at sunset, there's barely any cars and is quite beautiful. It took me a while to find the parking structure we're supposed to use. I run and go find the building I have to be in. There was lots of running. I finally found it and someone told me that i was super early, ugh.

I brought my textbook with me as a prop and to study. I try to read but i hear interesting stuff from the next table. So i join them and we all talk. There was a girl and a guy. The girl says that she gets work like 3-4 days a week. I am very impressed but she says it's because she paid for a call-in service. So she pays them like $70 a month but she gets steady work, so that's worth it. The guy is pretty new, this is his second gig. He's pretty cute too.

There are actually a lot of people at this shoot. We check-in by getting papers that pay us later. They check our wardrobe. People were pretty serious about wardrobe, a bunch of people brought suitcases with different clothes.

The production people guide us to a place where they have breakfast for us. Apparently they give us a really good breakfast. We had a lot of choices for breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patty, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, hash browns, coffee and orange juice. It was a pretty good breakfast, I was pretty nervous.

After breakfast we did a lot of waiting. I was a car person so we had to do different things. Since i had very little gas i was one of the people that was supposed to just park their car on the street. I was happy because driving in circles under someone's directions seem scary. So then we do more waiting. I talk to the guy and we're both TV fanatics. It was really fun talking to someone that's as obsessed as me about TV. If only he wasn't gay! Bummer.

They call everyone out except the parked car people. Cute gay guy was one of the drivers so i had no one to talk to. So we just wait in the room for a long time, I tried studying but the boringness was getting to me and i was getting sleepy. I figured he didn't need us anymore so I wander outside. I just decide to be a pedestrian it's not like they're going to care. They're paying me, might as well use me on the streets instead of sitting inside. So what we do is walk around. Wait, then walk some more, repeat.

It was kind of boring but then i call Cynthia and tell her about everything that happened. I looked like a real New Yorker, walking fast and talking on the phone. More realistic hahaha! Thing is that i really didn't know where the cameras, i just walked where they told me to. I also got some free coffee samples, looks really delicious.

So it's a wrap, we only actually did 2 or 3 hours of work. They told us to stay, so everyone wrapped up. I didn't get to talk or say bye to the cute gay guy :( then they said we were wrapped. We got compted for our parking. I was pretty damn tired when we left at 2:30pm.

This gig really made me want to actually do acting actively on my time off.

UCSB vs. Fullerton

On Saturday, Ann, Mika and I went to SB for the Men's Soccer Big West Championship game. We got to SB around 2pm and met up with Mary and Tony. We all piled into Ann's car like old times and drove down to State st. We had lunch at The Habit and went shopping at Urban. It felt like old times and it felt like home. I think I returned to my worry-less mood and just enjoyed the moments as they came.

We bought some booze and went back to the apartment. We all had different stuff and proceeded to get drunk. Then we all walked to the soccer game. Of course we were in the Gaucho Loco section, where else would we be? The game was really fun, we learned some new cheers and we won. Overall a great game. We took lots of pictures and got a coupon for a free burger from Silvergreens! I got my wish to eat at Silvergreens.

Went back to the apartment, ate and chilled. It felt really good but of course we had to leave. Oh i miss SB, but it was really great visiting.

On the drive back, Ann and I had real talk while Mika talked to a boy she liked on the phone. We need to have more trips to SB or anywhere else.

Whine whine whine

Being broke really sucks. I don't have money to eat out, hang out with friends, do fun things or even buy simple things.

My social life is basically in the toilet because I can't afford to do anything. I would have visited SB more if I had money to get back to SB and back AND money for gas for going to school and back.

But i guess it's my fault, I haven't really applied for too many jobs. Most jobs want me to apply online. I feel that doing that is very impersonal and that they don't even read my application/resume.

I was thinking about going with a Temp Service place, but those require you to work full time which I cannot do because I am deferring my loan payments. I wouldn't make enough money to pay my loans and have some fun money. I miss fun money, booo.

I miss eating at Chipotle :(

Trying new things/church experience

I miss having roommates, I miss just talking to other people just to hear myself, I miss having no one to just talk about mundane things. So I'm going to start blogging a little bit more.

Today I went to study with some people at this girl, Bree's house. I thought we were just going to sit around studying. Surprise, her family is having a BBQ and we're going to get tons of yummy food to eat. It really caught me by surprise. We did very little studying and did mostly eating and talking. It was cool hanging out with people from class.

I tried some new food too. I actually ate cilantro without it tasting like soap or tasting really strong. Bree's mom offered me some chimichurri, she told me it was made from chopped up cilantro and parsley. I was very reluctant and I told her that I didn't like cilantro. The mom told me her mother-in-law also hates cilantro. Hey I try anything once. You're supposed to put it on meat. So we had some steak and i tried just a bit. It was actually really good, i couldn't taste the soapyness or strongness of it. Let's just say i ate a ton of this chimichurri.

This is going to sound gross but the next thing i tried was FUCKING delicious. Bree's mom told us that a friend taught her how to make this delicious thing. Take strawberry and roll/cover it in sour cream then you roll it in brown sugar. Eat up! It was just so surprisingly good.

Everyone in my group, 3 other people, go to church. Today's sunday, so they were going to go to church. I didn't mind tagging along because we were going to study for reals after. A lot of people know i don't believe in God and don't really care for religion. So we go in, it's a really nice place, furnished by IKEA. It's a young person's parish (?). The pasture is talking and i'm listening. I was fine with the over all message he was promoting, which was to love everyone, blah blah blah. There were some instances during his speech, which i highly disagreed but it was whatever. I only got pissed off when he, in passing, bashed evolution.

I was fine with the preaching, the part i hated the most was the singing. It was about 30mins of singing God songs. At this time i'm just watching people and how they react/behaved to the songs. This is what freaked me out the most. People looked like they were in a trance, singing along with the lyrics and raising their arms up in faith. It was really scary to me, people were soooo into it. It wasn't so bad because to me it seemed like it was a concert where people were enthusiastic and singing along. The bad part was that they were doing this with their eyes closed.

After the service we just hung out, i was bored because i didn't really have anyone to talk to. The guys just paired off and started their bro-talks, which i'm okay with, i just wasn't in the conversation. The guys just took their freaking time in hanging out. By the time we got back, it was around 10pm. We all decided to just go home because it was late.

Overall a good day. My group is pretty cool. Except the guys were teasing me about being a Satan worshiper. Yeah...I'm never going to church again.

What a blog? YEAH!

Just the other day I added some guy I met from study abroad. He's pretty cute but that's beside the point, hahaha! He messaged me saying that he remembered me and that he's in Asia teaching. The last time I talked to him, in person, he was off to Spain to teach as well. In his message back to me he says that he spent about 4 years in Europe and wanted to go to Asia, so he did just that.

I start thinking back to when me and Ann were studying abroad, we were super positive people. We were just living in the moment and waiting for the next adventure. It was just so freeing being abroad, making friends with new people, learning cultural differences. I just get a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about it.

The last couple of months, I've just been constantly worrying. I've been worrying about getting a job, going to grad school, being able to get the classes I want in community college, and also worrying about the school loan debt that I'm carrying. Of course all of this stuff is putting a damper on having fun and being carefree.

I look back at the guy i added and he's off abroad teaching and having the time of his life. It really seems like he's really happy and that he hasn't a bother in the world. Of course I'm jealous, but also his positivity makes me wonder.

Why not think positively? It's not going to hurt, all this worrying is not doing me any good. Makes me think that i've been a damper on myself.

All those things, above, i can just stop worry about and it wouldn't be a problem. There's just one thing i can't shake, the future unknown. I'm the type of person who like to be ready when something comes up but there are just too many possibilities ahead of me and it's scary because i don't know if it's going to turn out good or bad.

I guess i just don't realize that when those things finally come, i will probably be able to deal with it without having too much problems and once it's over, I know i'm going to ask myself what i was worried about in the first place.

I just have to keep in mind that the future is unknown but that i'll be able to deal with it then. There's no use in trying to prepare for everything ahead of me. Might as well just live in the moment, even though it's hard when you're really broke (woops negatively slipped, this is going to be hard).
