recently

i haven't been updating my blog for a while, because i've just been way to lazy.

yesterday i got my eyes checked and got new frames. apparently i have slight astigmatism in one of my eyes, it's not bad so whatever. but my frames are going to take a while to come in so i'll get them when i come back for chinese new year.

i finally got to get back home to get ready for helen's white elephant hang out. we played some rockband 2 for a bit. i started to make the cookies. the sugar cookies came out terribly ugly but tasted good and the oatmeal cookies came out normal looking and tasting. time for gift exchange! i got the dvd Burn Without Notice or whatever. helen got screwed over by getting a yoga dvd and a WoW card set. she traded the cards for something less sucky, i forgot. isaac got this cool plush zombie that you could take apart, i was jealous. devin got a domokun plush and batman begins dvd. cynthia got a weird shirt and something i forgot. alex got a starwars mug and something he traded with helen. later daniel, wilson, greg and shaina came over and hung out too. we all played rockband and ate meat pies, that tasted pretty good. soon lissette and i had to go home. but it was a fun day overall.

today cynthia gave me, helen and lissette a christmas bundle that had candy and a scratch lottery card. we were all amazed with the lottery card but none of us won. some drama with lissette's family happened and she couldn't go with us to eat at spaghetti factory.

so the rest of us went to spaghetti factory. me and cynthia have never been there, it was nice. i ordered an italian soda, it came with a free glass, it was pretty cool. i got spaghetti with a bunch of sauces, it was pretty good but not awesome. after the meal we got some free ice cream!!! yumm!

after that we walked around the mall. there were sales but they weren't that great. a highlight was a trip to the puppy store! there was a cute dog called a chiweenie, a chihuahua and a dachshund, it was soooooooo adorable! more walking and i bought a wallet but it wasn't on sale.

god i'm depressed

about what? about FAILING in organic chemistry. i thought i would at least get a fucking C- in that class, that's not even enough to pass for my major. but a fucking F?! OMG! when i saw that on my grades i broke out in a cold sweat. omg...just omg...i'm pissed because i thought i did okay on my final or at least not that bad. i thought the professor was going to curve the student's grade to make the better scored test be worth more on the over all grade. or was that offer only for people who got A's on their final? i don't know! god, now i have to take it over again, which means i have to drop next quarter's ochem class, oh wait someone told me you automatically get kicked out. i have to fucking retake it this quarter. fuck fuck fuck. i secretly hope they made a mistake and are going to change it but doubt it. OMFG! i keep looking at it, somehow hoping it will change. fuck! am i crying? no, i'm in fucking shock.

this coming quarter, i am going to fucking step it up. no more fucking fooling around. omg, i really can't believe it. i just hope i don't fall into a hole i can't get out of. maybe i really need to get those ADD/ADHD medications. when school starts, i hope i remember to go to the doctor's.

Ruby Tuesday's

it was late again last night and helen and i were hungry again. i really wanted to try the new restaurant, Ruby Tuesday's. Cynthia also came along. we got to the restaurant, and it smelled weird, like eggs. not a good first impression. their menu wasn't so bad, it wasn't too expensive. we all took a while to choose something to eat. helen said that the mashed potatoes there were really good. so we looked for stuff with mashed potatoes.

on the menu was a Bistro Barbecue Chicken, it came with broccoli, mashed potatoes, lightly fried chicken with onion strings. that sounded delicious, so ALL of us ordered that. nobody likes to copy each others order but we were all stubborn. we were thinking it would suck and that all of us would be miserable.

we finally got our food, it didn't look like a lot but we dug in. the food was soooooo good! it's the best dish i've ever gotten at a restaurant! for once we were really silent while eating, and when we did talk it was about the food. i ate the plate clean! OMG that food was sooo fucking good! the place might have smelled funny but the food was delicious!

also i paid with my credit card. the waitress came back and said that her name was the same as mine, first and last. except she spelled her name Jeannie. weird coincidence.

the good side of laziness

i've been bumming out all day. all i've done is watch several movies, get up twice for food, and watch tv. not standing around might do some good for me. as we all know, you grow like a quarter inch, or something, when you sleep. but when you get up and move about, you get squished back. i think i have been growing for the last few days. i checked the measurements of my wall and compared it to my height. i have marks on the wall saying how tall i was at what time. last time i checked was around thanksgiving. i was the same height as i was for like a year. i just checked my height right now and i'm an inch taller! whether or not i will stay like this, who knows. but that's just one thing that actually benefits me from bumming around.

cookies

today's weather was kinda shitty but i went out with helen, cynthia and lissette to get sushi. it was really good and it started raining again. we went shopping for groceries to make cookies! we made soooo many cookies, lissette used us as her slaves. i had to use my hands to mix the butter in the batter. plus, we made up something called an alphacat. apparently we are all alphacats. pierre brought his girlfriend's brother with him. we alllll argued with him, it was hilarious! after all was said and done we made like over 50 cookies.

stranded again

so yesterday helen wanted to go get some food. this was at 10pm, i agreed and my mom let me go. but my mom put up a fight saying that it's really cold outside and that i had to wear a billion layers. she said i couldn't go if i didn't wear all those layers. i wore it and went off to eat.

Helen and i went to diamond plaza, to eat at The Boat. it wasn't raining when we got there but just in case i brought my umbrella with me into the restaurant. we ate and talked it was fun. it's also kinda weird because we were basically the only ones in the restaurant. so we finished eating and paid the bill. there was a really nice christmas tree in the front and asked to get our picture taken. it was a nice picture, hahahha!

so we head to the car, on the way to the car, helen's searching for her car keys. she can't find them, we get to the car and see them in the cup holder. it's just a big OMG cuz last time we got stranded, she left the car running. at least this time the car was off. she tried calling her brother, he didn't answer so she kept calling. still no answer. it's like 11:30 at the moment. we go inside the asian store and browse and wait around. helen's brother finally called back. then we got kicked out. so we waited outside for a good 40mins. i was so glad i was wearing so many layers and that i had an umbrella. helen's brother finally came, it only takes 20min or so to get to where we were.

guess what? he brought the wrong spare key!!! it was like OMG again! so we went with him to get the right key. at her house we couldn't find the right key. her dad after 15min found the key. during that 15min, her brother was talking about they spare maybe being under the car. he almost convinced us to go drive back to the car and search under the car. helen's dad came out with teh key. imagine if we drove to the car and had to drive to the house and drive back. that would have been hell. but we got the key and drove back. helen drove me back home. i got home at freakin past 1:30am. geez...

but it was funny, kinda not.

Finished with finals

so for some reason, i was not really worried about my bio final. that was bad because when i actually started studying, i procrastinated for a day or two, i realized that i was totally unprepared and that i really needed to catch up. too bad by the time i realized that, it would be too time consuming to go through everything! so i just picked out what i felt i would have a problem with and just studied that. this is the class where i can watch lecture videos. the professor also had a video of his review session, i made sure i watched that one. plus i went over all the old exams. oh yeah, and i accidentally missed a catch up session for tutor for bio. woops!

i got the the final really early because that's just the way i am. i didn't see any seating charts on the projector so i just sat somewhere. about 15mins later they put it up but by that time there were a bunch of people. that one guy in my lab that looks like Dr. Wilson sat near me. i really wanna tell him he looks like Dr. Wilson but i think it would have really weirded him out. because i didn't sit in the right section brian didn't sit next to me. apparently, he was sad and he blames me for bombing the test because we didn't sit next to each other. when i did turn in my test, i did see him, he did look very sad, poor thing.

all these precautions helped a lot but because i didn't read everything, i sometimes i had to guess on the final. that was around 7 questions out of 83. i thought that i would have the hardest time with the genetics problem solving parts, but it was the easiest part because i watched the review session and the questions were easier than the previous exams. overall the exam wasn't so bad since i went over the old exams, that really helps a lot! i didn't panic during the test, i just took my freakin sweet time. i felt i did a good job, maybe not an A but close enough.

after i got back from the test, the roommates and i started binge cleaning. we got everything cleaned up in around 3-4 hours, i left after the major stuff was finished cleaning. i fell asleep on the way home. when we were almost home i woke up and wanted food, so my mom bought a roasted duck, yummm.... i came home to a bunch of stuff i bought online, it was like christmas! i watched a bunch of movies i downloaded before i left school.

i'm glad i'm home, i can rest, hang out with friends, eat, and sleep!

2 Finals down

On Tuesday i had two finals, psych and ochem. i woke up early to study for psych because i didn't study for it recently. i ended up procrastinating and just watching tv, i felt like i really knew the material. i went to my final and i'm pretty sure i got an A on the test. i finished in less than an hour, there were 60 multiple choice questions and i triple checked my answers. i wanted to punch this guy in the back of their head because he was eating chips, DURING THE TEST!

after that i was really procrastinating. i went back to the apartment ate some food and took a nap. then i packed very slowly to go to the library. for once i decided to sit in the cubicles instead of the 24 hour study room. i was there for 4 hours! that is so much time just to spend studying. i even got some good tips from Brian. i was really anxious for the test. they put a clock on the projector so we could see what time it was. they came with the test more than 5mins late!!! but once i opened it and started doing problems i found that i knew how to do them all. is it cuz i studied and actually learned?! no..it's cuz i went to a review session with the best tutor and she gave out practice finals with the answer key. i used those to help me study. and guess what, that practice final was exactly like the real final! it even had some of the actual problems! so i did really well. the class is curved by whichever test you do better on. i did really bad on my midterms, so they'll take up 20% of my grade and my final can be worth 80%. so i think i can really pass this class, that was my biggest fear, not passing. that was such a relief. i left the test after an hour and a half. before a lot of people did.

there were a little less than a hundred people at that review session. i am just amazed that i did well on that test.

when i came home, the whole house played Pigball. this game i made up, it's like raquetball but with a stressball pig and there's no bouncing. you can only use your hands to hit it, no kickinig. it was so fun!!! we played for about an hour or more, gah everyone was so sweaty and tired.

oh and i sleeptalked to mika last night, i'm not sure i was awake but i remember talking to her. Mika said that i also started saying other stuff. hahahaha!

say what?

oh i'm blog, it's finals soon, why am i on the internets? because my bio class has video lecture streams online!!! wooh! i have around 12hours of lectures to watch/listen to. if i do several hours a day but that's cool. i'm glad that my classes don't start till later in the day next quarter.

so studying, i haven't really been doing it. it's sooo bad. i really feel like i'm going to fail ochem, it's really depressing. i found out that if you don't pass it, the school drops you out of the next class, because your grade isn't good enough to go to the next class. i thought physics was hard, no no no, at least i understood the concepts which helped figure out the answer. i got some tips from susan, she didn't pass the class the first time so she's retaking it this quarter. i have some clues on what to study but basically everything we learned this quarter is going to be on the final. that's freaking 10 chapters!!! oh god. i can't wait till after tuesday.

i have two finals that day, psych 1 and ochem. psych i've actually been studying because it's an easy course. i better get a good grade, i actually did all the reading, thanks to my job. i have a lot of time at my job so i just bring my hw and read. i would bring my ochem stuff, but that book weighs at least 5 pounds. maybe next quarter i'll tough it out and really buckle down and study, if i pass this quarter of ochem. god i hope i pass.

for the past few days i've been eating, out of procrastination. i'm never really hungry but i eat because i'm bored. i'm really trying to avoid ochem, it's ruining my life!

end of dead week

i haven't been going to my 8am bio classes and i feel really bad, but i found out that there are videos of the lectures online, yay! i can review online and watch tv/computer! which meant that i didn't go to my bio class today. instead i just went to my o-chem class, which lasted less than 30mins, lame.

i was tired but i wanted to watch stuff on tv and Ann owed me a blender's smoothie. got the smoothie, ate and took a nap. after the nap i had work then a review session. i saw some guy i've never seen at work. he was kinda cute. i asked a co-worker if he was new, and he said that that guy worked there longer than he did. he just works earlier hours. i was shocked at the fact, hahaha! a bunch of people were returning clothes and i learned how to do that. it was pretty quiet for work.

review session took forever, made me not able to go to the parade on state street. ohwell, the tutor was funny cuz she read all her evaluations and only one person gave her a bad review. that person also made comments that were personal. the tutor said the girl was in the review session and that she will get kicked out if she takes the tutor next quarter. the tutor said that the girl was stupid and added something personal to the comment and that's how she knew it was her. and everyone clapped for the tutor, imagine if you were that girl, that would suck soooo bad. also somebody gave me a papercut, ouch.

aw last day of lab

today was the last day of lab, awww. last night i sent brian a graph for the lab and it was great that i did because i think it was worth a lot. we had to take a test for the lab. i became very sleepy during the test, i could barely keep my eyes open. plus the test was really hard, i hope i did okay on it. after the test we had a few mins of free time, so me and brian started playing with photobooth on the mac. we got scared so we only took two pictures. the sad thing was that we couldn't email or take the pictures off the computer. aww. lab was pretty uneventful for a lab.

Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and Spending, Oh My!

Wednesday: i actually went to my 8am and 9am classes, but skipped tutoring to catch the train. it had been raining but at our apartment it stopped. there was a lot of traffic, it took almost an hour to get there. funny thing, i forgot my umbrella and it started raining cats and dogs. i got my train ticket at the station and sat outside freezing for an hour. getting on the train was hard, i almost didn't get a seat, that was scary. the train ride was overall boring. we got delayed for an hour.

Thursday: i didn't actually have thanksgiving dinner. instead i just bummed at home and shopped online at amazon.com and american eagle. i slept kinda early to get ready for black friday.

Friday: woke up at 6am cuz cynthia texted me about picking me up, i got ready really fast. we went straight to target. we got there around 6:20 but there was a bunch of people already. cynthia grabbed 30rock season 1, the thing i was going to get. it was also the last one. i was sad, but i figured they stashed some more elsewhere. i finally found it, and it was the last one. i also bought weeds season 1 and 2. after we headed to the mall since we didn't know where to go. i bought yatzee and apples to apples at KB toys. it was really cheap how could i pass that up? so apparently cynthia and ashley were supposed to watch twilight together later on that day. cynthia called and texted ashley but ashley didn't respond at all. that's lame.

i took a nap and went to my family's thanksgiving dinner. there was so much food. i ate til i just couldn't. there was turkey, asian stuffs, macaroni salad, mashed potatoes, and more deliciousness. then we played with the kids, it was overall fun! i wish i took pictures though.

Saturday: hung out with Helen a bit, we ate sushi and went to the mall. i had to go home early cuz my mom is mean. i packed and got ready to head back to santa barbara. i watched all of weeds season1. it wasn't that good, it was an interesting subject but the directing was bad or something. i just didn't like the style. they just put characters in, making it seem like they were important, but then they just tossed those characters out. plus the main lady's face annoys me. the character annoys me too because she seems like she wants the business more than her kids. it's like she started dealing to provide for her kids but she completely ignores them even though she didn't have to. she doesn't make the effort. so i'm going to watch the second season and sell it on amazon.com.

Sunday: headed back to santa barbara, i fell asleep for most of the way but i was awake for an hour and i got a bit sick. mary got an xbox and was playing fable 2, it's a funny game. for dinner we went to a hawaiian grill place, it's reallly good. i got a great sandwich called Burnt Ends that had the best parts of the meat. it was awesome!

Monday: i splurged money on shirt.woot.com and aerie. geez i gotta stop spending money. work was cool, just talked to trevor about thanksgiving. oh yeah, also the guy frances is so hot already, and he decides to take a break to go surfing. how hot is that, i was flabbergasted.

DAWG

yesterday was really fun.

mika and i went to DAWG, a dog shelter, to volunteer. we got a bunch of training and we actually got to walk the dogs afterwards. i got a dog named Jojo, not sure about what kind of dog, or even if it was a female or male, but it was really cute and adorable. it was a medium sized dog. we walked around but Jojo was dragging me so i had to jog a bit to keep up with it. a bunch of people were there volunteering as well and so there were a bunch of other dogs being walked. which caused a bit of trouble, jojo didn't like other dogs to be near it so it would growl and bark. so i had to walk it away from the other dogs, but so many people were walking so it was difficult. here's the bad part, jojo acidentally got away from me for a few seconds. i chased after it but i tripped, lucky jojo noticed and turned around. i clapped for it to come and it did! that's how i got jojo back. phew! if i lost a dog on the first day, imagine! it was fun but really tiring cuz i was jogging and sweating.

Mika and i decided to leave and go to trader joe's. i saw Blender's in the same mini-mall so i wanted to go there after shopping. at trader joe's i bought a box of cutie tangerines. that brought back memories of England so i bought it. i love to eat them because they're sweet and easy to peel, plus they're super cute cuz they're tiny! i paid for my stuff and the cashier was kinda really cute, hahahha!

After that we put our stuff in the car and walked to Blender's. i got The Orange Plus, which had a bunch of stuff that sounded really good. it was amazing, they only come in one size so it's cheaper than jamba and it's healthier than jamba. too bad it's only located in Santa Barbara county.

Then we went to Michael's and bought some thread to make more friendship bracelets. yay friendship! we went home and i took a really long nap. waited for ann and mary to come home.

Ann and i got ready to go to some parties. we dressed up 80's for some friend's bday party. we got there kinda late but the party was still raging on. it was in someone's backyard, but there was beer pong, break dancing and a DJ. it was kinda fun, took bad it only lasted for 30min more, oh well! after that we went to the EAP party, that was a bit more boring. we talked to some peoples and left.

lab lab!

i haven't blogged in a while because nothing's really been going on. i also haven't had lab, which is always great but i had lab this week!

a couple of weeks ago we had to swish saline in our mouths and use it for DNA somethings. yesterday is when we actually used it for indicating stuff. there was a LOT of down time in this lab. there was a quiz too but it was postponed for some reason so we did it later in the lab which was stupid. saw some bioluminance animals, it was cool but the room was really dark and i was suddenly very sleepy. another part of the lab was taking our plants and reaping the seeds. it was brutal but apparently we're going to grow even more plants! we also played with paraflim, it was fun! but brian began to hate it because it wasn't cooperating. the results were in from our DNA, me and brian are heterozygous! for this one intron thing then he said that we might be related, hahahahha!

yesterday night the roommates and i went to this holiday making thingy, i made some friendship bracelets. mary stole some thread.

what a great day

yesterday was a pretty awesome day.

Mika, Mary, Tony, Liv and I went to State st to do some shopping. Mika and i helped Liv get fitted for a bra at Victoria's Secret. Mary and Tony went to go buy clothes for Tony, since he dresses terrible. i wanted to make sure i was wearing the right size so i got fitted too. it was not as awkward as i thought it would be. i got a different bra size and bought a bra that was on sale. 20 bucks not bad. afterwards we went to Nordstrom but i didn't like anything there. Mika had to go to something so she went home.

Met up with Tony and Mary at Barnes and Noble. Me and Mary were hungry so we told Tony and Liv that we were leaving. they weren't paying attention and we walked to the hot dog place. the hot dogs were good and the fries were even better! i was facing out the store and saw a military car i had my camera so i decided to take a picture. i ran outside and i took a picture of it, further down the street were more military cars. i shouted "it's a parade!" and mary freaked out and ran outside. it was a veteran's day parade, it had lots of military vehicles. i swore i saw McCain and Sarah Palin. it was cool!

afterwards we went to urban outfitters. i thought that one of the workers was really hot. intimidatingly hot. Mary was again shopping for Tony, me and Liv just hung out waiting for them. i bought the Tucker Max book i've been wanting to read. we thought it was getting late so we took the bus back home. my mistake was falling asleep in the bus. mary took a picture, it wasn't pretty.

i was really tired so i took a nap. my mom called me during my nap, for the second time. gah! after my nap i was just chilling in the house by myself because tony and mary went to albertson's to buy food since tony had friends coming over. Mika calls me and says she has tons of hot dogs and that if i didn't pick them up they would be thrown away. so i rode my bike to Carillo and picked them up. it was super windy outside, but i got the hot dogs.

shortly after i came home, so did tony and mary. we watched some SNL and ate hot dogs. tony's friends finally came. they were really cool, compared to Tony. Tony's really mean, he assumes that i am not capable of doing anything and says it to my face. so i was really surprised when his friends were really cool. i really enjoyed their company.

so that was my day. this blog isn't as exciting as what i experienced but whatevers.

lab

i usually love bio lab but today was just boring, sorta. we were all asked to swish around some saline in our mouths and spit it in a dixie cup. my dixie cup had a puppy playing a mandolin and brian's was pandas that said panda in different languages. sad thing is that panda is said the same way in a bunch of languages. so the saline was nasty and thick, but it was somewhat cool to do in lab. we all put it in tubes and spun it in the centrifuge. i had yogurt this morning so my spit and stuff turned out weird. i had to spin it around again, it still wasn't solid as other people's but it had to do. i had to suck it up in a pipette and put it into a smaller tube. i'm just going to say that saline stuff was thick and gross. we did some stuff to it and for some reason we were waiting around for a long time.

apparently we were supposed to do some computer stuff, which we finished in 20min. so we just talked, this girl across from us was talking about something i didn't really care about. she expected me to pay attention, but i had no idea what she was talking about because i don't drive or is from Norcal. she was expecting me to follow her directions on how to get back to her house and how much gas she spent. at the end of her schpiel, i summed up her story in one sentence. it made me angry and i wanted to slap her. it's the same girl brian wanted to slap last lab, hahahahha! brian saw some colorful tape and wanted to keep it, but we just played with it and stuck it to different places, we are so badass, lol jk! so then we did some non-sense with E. Coli me and brian were pretending we were going to eat it. it would suck if we really did though. we quickly made some cultures because the lab was ending really quickly.

after lab i grabbed some ice cream with brian, cuz AS was giving out ice cream sandwiches and big sticks, a band was performing this afternoon. we got big sticks and made a bunch of "that's what she said" jokes. it was fun but i had class so i had to bounce.

i have to study hardcore today for o-chem. i'm really nervous about it. binge studying will do me some good. hopefully i can find people also studying for it and get some help.

i got a kuya, aka older brother

i'm in this club called KP, which is basically the filipino club at school. i needed to get involved in a club because i haven't done anything for the last two years at college. so i signed up for the kuya(older brother)/ate(older sister)/ading(younger sibling) program. i wanted a Kuya so i requested one. for the past few weeks he's been emailing me to know me better, but i tried not to ask questions because i didn't want to figure him out. Ann told me he was cute and i really couldn't figure out who he was. so i just wanted to keep it a surprise.

today was the ate/kuya/ading revealing party. people had to play games to get tickets to get clue to figure out who your ate/kuya was. there was golf, water pong, twister, UCSB trivia, and some other stuff. i won a bunch of tickets. i figured it out with two clues, wearing a black shirt and vans that look like sneakers. i looked for guys that wore black and vans. i found only one guy and he was good looking, hahahah creepy me. so i went up to this guy and asked him "are you my kuya?" and he said that he wasn't and that he was just here with someone. so i was confused, then i bought a guess and i got it right. i went back up to him and he said he wasn't and that he didn't know what i was talking about. so i asked people to confirm it, i got 3 people to confirm it and went back up to him. he once again said he wasn't my kuya, but i didn't believe it. so he said he'd show me where my kuya was and stuff like that. i was 99% sure he was my kuya. finally it was revealing time, i asked him again and he said he was. he got hit so many times because i didn't believe him. it was really fun hanging out with him trying to figure out if it was him or not. i got gifts, i got a shirt that had dwight on the front and on the back it says "mark's ading" and he had a matching dwight shirt with "jeany's kuya" on the back. it was really cool. i also go presents, got a six pack of sparkling apple cider and a jar full of swedish fish plus gummy bears.

i felt a tad bit awkward after he admitted it. but he was really nice and fun. a bunch of pictures were taken. he's a physics major, poor poor thing. he has to study so much and has so much hw.

concert and halloween!

Concert Friday Night:
Ann, Mary and i went early-ish to the concert, but there was a long line. i was disappointed that we weren't near the front, but oh well. we managed to wiggle in near the front. the first act was Treaty of Paris, they were really good. i got to touch the singer's hand, woo! next was Eric Hutchinson, he's the guy with Perez Hilton in his music video. he was good but a bit serious. although he did a great remix of My Girl and Ignition. i really like his last song Rock and Roll but that's when the serious shoving started.

after that was just chaos! everyone was getting crushed and squished. i could hardly breath or move. it was just so crazy. so i got out of there fast, it just wasn't worth it and i knew it wasn't going to stop. Ann and Mary was in the crowd a lot longer than i was. they finally got out and Mary was crying. apparently some guy flipped out on her and elbowed her in the stomach or ribs. it was just bad and it sucked that they didn't get out earlier.

we were pretty traumatized so we didn't attempt to get back into the crowd. instead we just danced behind the crowd. Jack's Mannequin played songs off their new CD which we haven't heard before. for the songs we did know, we freaked out and had a great time. for the last song we got to be close because a bunch of people left. also it was one of my favorite songs La La Lie. it was so cool.

after the show we hung out a bit with Treaty of Paris and bought some merch. too bad Jack's Mannequin didn't have a credit card machine or else i would have bought some stuff. oh well. we were all so tired afterwards.

Halloween:
i had work that day but no one was around, it was really boring. i came home and no one was home so i worked on my costume and got it done. before we went out we took a shot of hypnotic, i thought it was gross. then a bunch of people came along for the walk to DP. it was fun and there were a lot of people. lots of phelps, ghostbusters, jokers, waldos, and penguins. we came back to our apartment, chilled and played rockband. we went to sleep pretty early.

exciting week!

Monday:
at work was really cool. i'm starting to like this job more and more, too bad i don't get more hours, i needs the money. i checked out the gym came back chilled for 15mins and repeat. boss's daughter came by today, she's nice. i was still confused about what to call this guy, either frances or francois? boss's daughter says that francois is his stripper name, i told frances that i didn't know he was a stripper, and i felt weird, hahaha!

came home to find out taht we got a new hamster as a pet. ann named him andy warhol bomb.com, yeah long name. bad news, one of the fish died, it was Tony's fish, Homely Superstar. Homely Superstar only had two working fins and was already tiny. so it wasn't a surprise when it died, it was just disappointing.

Tuesday:
i didn't have my psych section so i didn't go to class and i actually got to sleep in a bit longer. i had to study for psych so i just sat outside reading, the radio was turned on and everyone was actually studying or reading. i felt that we needed more of these kinds of days, so i'm going to impliment study hours on Wednesday. we all need those extra hours of studying and quiet to catch up on homework and reading.

Wednesday:
was kinda hectic. i had class, a psych experiment, my passtime and KP meeting. all the roommates had to go shopping for halloween costumes. so we went to a few thrift shops for ideas and stuff to wear. i found some welding goggles so i'm going to be dr. horrible. i knew i wanted to be betty rubble so i found a blue oversized skirt and going to make that into a dress. that skirt was a size 12 and long. after shopping we ate at Denny's yum! i was late for my passtime but we had to go to KP meeting. so i hurried and got all my classes. the meeting was a bit boring but watever. i got dropped off at home and missed my shows, sad. oh well.

Thursday (Today):
i didn't study last night for my psych test so i was hoping that my lab was going to end early. too bad it took the WHOLE 3 hours of lab. the lab wasn't fun but not boring either. we had to work in fours instead of pairs, so we partnered with people sitting across from us. brian was not happy for a bit, he said that he wanted to slap one of them. we had to fix our plants but Brian's plants died, he said i killed them by just giving them a look. he also pulled a lot of "that's what she said" stuff on me. i was holding this one thing and i said "this thing's so big i can't even grip it" or something of that sort. my poor lab partner is so nervous about meeting Andrew, the singer of Jack's Mannequin. he adores Andrew. lab was long but we had a lot of stuff to do. apparently we did the lab wrong, but whatever it was close enough and we just borrowed someone else's results, hahahha! it really took the whole lab. so i didn't get a chance to study.

i raced over to my class tried to cram all i could. i thought the test was going to be really hard because i didn't study a lot, but i did do all my reading so it was okay. the test wasn't too difficult, even though there were a few questions i didn't know at all, but i could use a lot of process of elimination to get the answer.

tonight is the Jack's Mannequin concert, i'm really excited!!! plus i've heard of the opening acts: Eric Hutchinson, he's on VH1 in the morning, i even saw him this morning; and Treaty of Paris, i've heard of them but not their music. YAY!

Fall Carnival

today the apartment complex had a fall carnival. it was pretty great. there was food, drinks, fish pong, pumpkin painting, and various games.

mary and tony won a fish each, i was intensely jealous cuz i want a fish too. soon the fish were gone, only one was left so the game became one fish one cup. it went on for a while, i was really close a couple times. finally this girl won and the game was over. sad.

we painted some pumpkins, ate some and enjoyed a band that was just around. it was a very enjoyable day. i stole a bunch of veggies and dip. fun fun fun!

i would have blogged a bit more but i've been forgetting and lazy.

on monday i had work and it wasn't so bad because boss guy wasn't in, so i just chilled with the guys and didn't do much. i had a lot of fun doing nothing. work's only boring because i don't talk or interact with anyone. i wonder if i can get another job, i'm getting so few hours, only 4 hours a week. lame. i needs my money! i only have 100bucks in my checking. textbooks were so expensive this quarter, that's why i'm almost broke. i don't get anymore money until next quarter, in december. =(

tuesday was a tad boring. in the ucen i found a different puzzle, it was a andy worhol marilyn monroe collage. i worked on it for a total of 4 hours. i almost finished but filling the edges was hard so i just went home and decided to come back the next day. much later at night mary, ann and i went to yolanda's place to eat some guatemalan food. it was good and we check out their apartment, it's a lot newer and has FT furniture.

today on my one hour break i finished the puzzle! yay! too bad there was one piece missing, but i wasn't too upset about that. we roommates took a lot of pictures on mika's macbook. lots of fun!

busy friday

yesterday was really stressful in the morning. i took a shower to wake me up since i don't know how to make coffee and it'd get all jittery and stuff.

i was kinda nervous about my bio midterm. my lab partner sat next to me and the music people played that "paper planes" song by MIA. it was stuck in my head when i was taking the test. that part sucked, but i think i did very well on it, considering i only studied for bio for only a day.

o-chem was a whole different story. since i got out early from bio i had a bit more time to study right before the o-chem midterm. actually looking at the test, i was shocked, it wasn't what i was expecting. i felt like i was screwed. on some questions i didn't know what it was asking. it wasn't a multiple choice test, but there were questions that asked either or. i just guessed on those either-or questions so i have no idea how i did on this test. i left the test with a headache. blah!

hours later i had to go to work, and i was super bored because i had no one to talk to. i was walking around and found a place to sit. i just rested for a bit and i almost fell asleep. one of the other guys caught me laying down. later he said he got a kick outta it because that's what they used to do. i was glad when i got out of work.

afterwards we headed off to starbucks friday. i wasn't so thirsty but hungry so i went next door to the sushi place and bought a Mika roll, it's like a california roll but with cream cheese and shrimp tempura, it's really good. it hit the spot, i love sushi!!!

we were going to go to the soccer game but i fell asleep and didn't feel good cuz i've been up for so long and i took two midterms very early this morning.

but later we went to bowling. the first frame i got two gutter balls, lol but i did a lot better during the night. bowling was fun and free!

roxy

today i bought my Jack's Mannequin ticket, wooh! it was $23 not bad since the venue is quite small. i just have to start listening to their music, hahhahah!

Roxy and Emergen-C teamed up together with some breast cancer awareness program and came to our school. with any donations, you get a free pair of roxy flip flops, sorta custom made by yourself! i got this brown base ones, with cute circles and matched with the a white "thong". i donated $5, that's a lot for me to donate, but it's worth it, for breast cancer and free flip flops. also got a bunch of pamphlets and a CD. i'm really happy with my stuff right now.

i still have to do a bunch of stuff today though, meetings, turning stuff in, catch up on my shows, and maybe take a nap.

worky work work

today was my first day of work. i didn't expect anything out of this except just a normal job. gooooosh it was boring as hell. all i did was walk around a gymnasium for 2 hours! although i did find an arrow, from a bow and arrow, and kept it. it's my prize for today. i walked inside the actual basketball courts and the women's basketball team didn't like it. they didn't express it but i felt it. so i didn't go in there again. i must have walked around that gym 30 times. i caught some guy changing, it was really weird, so i turned around and left. i got very bored, so i kept going back to the locker storage place where some staff people hang out as their job. i made friends with one guy, named travis, he's nice and easily belittled. also i got a free staff shirt, i felt cool and important, even though i was just wandering aimlessly around the gym.

it wasn't a bad job, i just need to bring a book with me next time. i guess i got some work done, so watever.

p.s. over the last three days i've eaten literally 10 plates/bowls of spaghetti. i'm so addicted, but the carbs!

helen's birthday party

the party was fun, i felt really at home. the food was bomb too. there was spaghetti, chowder and roasted potatoes. while eating a bunch of us just watched the office. we were watching fun run and the launch party episode. good stuff. we played some rockband 2, there are a lot of songs i don't know. plus there are a lot more songs.

i got a bday card from cynthia and helen. cynthia got me a great present for my bday. a freaking great play-doh set. i stole some kid's dream. it's sooo awesome!!!

it was just really fun to be at home. i miss it a lot.

joy oh joy

cool Jack's Mannequin is going to perform at my school. sorta bad news, it's on October 30th. my bio lab partner told me. i was going to text people but i couldn't figure out how to spell mannequin. oh well.

during lab we had to rip apart some fruit fly larvae under a microscope. it was disgusting. we had to get the salivary glands and dye it then squish it under a slide. then looked at the chromosomes. i'm super good at the microscopes. lab was sorta boring, my partner was outta it. at the end of the lab we looked at our plants, mine grew pretty well. then we had to play god and perform natural selection. snip snip.

work

today i slept in again. i feel so bad but i'm so dead tired in the morning. i need like 8 hours of sleep and i get 7 hours for those early morning classes.

after class i went to training for my job. i work at a gym so i saw a bunch of hottiesss!!! it's not the gym most used but it's still use by athletes. the volleyball guys were so hot and tall. went through some safe issues we have to watch out for. my worst fear was about the hobos. but luckily the guys have to deal with them.

i got to put out a fire with an CO2 extinguisher. that was exciting and fun. at the end of it we went to the locker stockroom. the most goodlooking guy was there working. his eyes were beautiful....they actually sparkled. i could have possibly swooned. i'm scheduled for Monday and Friday from 2-4pm. that will get me out of the house for a bit, and i'll get paid. $8.50 a hour but i only get a pay check for every month. so i get about $136, but probably less because they take out taxes. hmm...i need some more hours. maybe someone will quit.

after we went to the jacuzzi i am so sore for jujitsu yesterday. so we sat around the hot tub with apparently hot guys. i couldn't see, i didn't have my glasses on. oh well!

overall a good day.

wacky

this morning i woke up and didn't feel like going to my 8am class. i felt really bad but when i woke up an hour and a half later, i felt awesome. i still feel a little guilty about not going to class. my body does not react well from lack of sleep. maybe i have to stop staying up so late, meaning midnight, at the latest.

for my job i filled in some paperwork and whatnot. lots of forms. but i have training tomorrow yay! don't ask what my job is, i'm not even sure.

went with mika to jujitsu. warmed up and stretch, i learned how to fall and kiya! i don't like to kiya because i'm so loud and i'm just shy with all the other people around. learn a bit. it was fun sorta but i think i'm too much of a beginner to be in that class. i'm physically tired.

p.s. in psych i saw a video of how they did lobotomies back in the day. it was horrible. they used an ice pick put it right above the eyeball and started hammering away. so primitive!

good day

today was relatively great. went to school early as usual but wasn't as dead tired like before. went to my psych experiment, it was a virtual world experiment. kinda lame, just went to a virtual word for like 20mins, i was a little bit busy. the overall experiment was kinda lame. oh well. i then went to the ucen and put together some more pieces of the puzzle, didn't look like anyone worked on it since. went to tutoring and home for a nap. my regular schedule.

but after the nap, i felt good. ate an awesome cookie. browsing the interwebs and weezer posted the new music video, which cynthia and i are in. we got some more shots than i expected which is good. got to talk to cynthia on the phone for once. while going to call cynthia i found a missed call and a voicemail. it was the lady that's going to give me a job, wooh! oh and one more thing, i looked good going to school today.

geez drinking...vent

yesterday was liv's bday party, where a bunch of people gathered and drank. i guess i was up for it. we played king's cup a really fun game until it gets to the waterfall card, then the people at the end (me) get screwed over. so after a whole deck everyone was pretty drunk. i threw up because i don't think my liver could take it. after that i felt better, less alcohol in my system.

two people (who do not wish to be identified) totally hooked up, i saw it coming but it was just awkward for everyone. they were super drunk/wasted pretty much. so we left around 3 am, i had sobered up already. got home took care of the couple.

the next morning one of them was still drunk, i do not like that person drunk. it annoys me, reminds me of all the other people in santa barbara. not cool, maybe that was why i was bitchy or something. i dunno.

later today we played flip cup, i tried to refrain from drinking. i took half a shot which didn't do much and drank ginger ale the rest of the night. some people got drunk faster than others. the couple then got back together. sure the game was fun, but i do not like to deal with drunk people. but of course i feel bad and have to be the mom. i hate being the mom/baby sitter. also they're my friends so what can do just leave them? no, even though i want to real badly.

maybe i have to go make new friends. everyone's been saying i have to get out more. sorta feels like freshman year, but worse because i didn't hang out with drunkards for most of the year. now i'm stuck with some. drinking in the UK was much more different and much less awkward. in the UK it's more of a chill thing. but now even drinking in the apartment has gotten out of hand, it's become just like the rest of santa barbara.

oh i love thursdays

last night i went to sleep pretty late, 1:30am, late for me. but luckily i had a 9am lab the next day. doesn't sound nice but considering i have 8am classes 4 days a week, an extra hour of sleep goes a long way.

last year i had chem and physics labs. chem sucked ass and physics was so easy. so i didn't know what to expect for my bio lab. i walked into the room and i thought i was doomed, there were MACs everywhere. this did not look good. plus i felt like the oldest person. we all introduced ourselves, i couldn't here half the people, but there were some third years here and there. plus everyone laughed at/with my introduction. my "interesting thing" was that i couldn't wait to watch the office tonight. everyone's voice was so quiet, when i said something it was a boom compared to others.

before we started we watched a safety video, it was soooo funny, it was old but it was the acting that was hilarious. when something caught on fire this asian guy makes a surprised face and puts his hands on his face, like "uh oh hotdog". the acting was just bad, but so bad it's funny.

so lab started we played with some microscopes. my partner was a guy, i don't remember his name, oops, lol! but he was very nice, not sure if he was gay or just enthusiastic. i think it's the latter but i'm not sure. we looked at stuff through the microscopes, looked a Euglea and some pond scum. i'm bomb at microscopes, yay! it was sooo cool. we even played with some rolly pollies, some of them were dead, poor things.

at the end of class we had to plant some seeds and grow them. this scares me, i'm bad at plant management. everying i touch dies, plant-wise. somehow i was the last person to finish watering my seeds. overall i love my bio lab, get to play with live stuff and grow things.

got out of lab early so i went to the ucen, a band was playing and were giving out free ice cream sandwiches. i got neopolitan yum.

then off to psych, i like that class a lot so it was a great ending to the day. plus tonight is the office, yay!

p.s. no one on project runway got kicked off. i hate kenley!

quick blog

i don't think i'm going to have a lot of time to blog. i'm trying to put a lot of effort into school now. although i do stray a lot as well.

for almost every class i have to print out notes, that's such a waste of my ink, i just doesn't run out at a bad time. for one set of notes i printed out 5 pages, with me trimming and resizing them. geez!

today my bio teacher said that he had a bouncer, it was cute and funny. on the way to a class i saw this larger boy wear a shirt that said "dunder mifflin" across his moobs, not pleasant for me.

i'm adjusting my bio notes and it's taking me freaking forever. ugh!

what a shocker!

today i went to my first psych discussion. let's just say i felt old. my TA is soooo awesome, she loves tv like i do and she's from the south, north carolina. she's just a really cool TA. the ironic thing is that her name is Shelly. oh well!!

got some shocking news. apparently yolanda is coming to santa barbara on thursday. mary texted me and i didn't believe it. i was thinking she was coming for a visit which didn't make sense because visiting from barcelona doesn't make sense. mary later called me and said that she's coming back for good. apparently she really didn't like it there and they don't speak spanish, they speak catilan, and she knew they did. it was just a surprise she's coming back. also she didn't have a good time and she didn't make friends. that sucks, because i had a great time in England and that was only 8 weeks. i guess it was better that i knew some people already. but still. and she was going to stay there for a year, she was so excited.

the only reason why i feel weird she's coming back is because we had an altercation before she left. it was about her and her, now, boyfriend hogging up the living room and not warning me about stuff she was doing in the room. i got mad and confronted her. hopefully she won't still be mad at me.

School’s for fools!

well getting up at 7am for an 8am class isn't so bad, so far. i usually only need to hit the snooze once. i actually made myself a sandwich too bad i didn't have any breaks to eat it.

bio was boring but i like the teacher, he seems very nice and interested in his field. it's getting harder and harder to find a seat in the front, i guess i have to leave earlier. on the way to chem i basically rode my bike in a circle to get to it. if i walk it only takes 2-3mins, biking is 7-10mins depending on the traffic. so i think i'm going to ride to my chem class and walk to bio, then walk to chem. saves a lot of time.

today was first day for tutoring. i recognized my ochem tutor, he was in my physics class last year, that made me sad. but he looked really hot for a butter face, aw i'm mean. but i've seen him not dressed up well, last time i saw him he just wore sweats and bummed out. today he looked pretty damn good.

went to my classics class, my roommate had this class before but i got a different professor. the reading is so difficult and we have to participate in class. so i dropped the class when i went home. i bought the books already but i can sell them back on amazon.com for around the same price. i felt bad because i never really dropped a class. oh welll...

on to bio tutoring. the tutor is really nice and she's been at UCSB for 20years! and she's been turtoring for that amount of time too. so i know she's good, plus 20 years ago she had my professor for this class. that's a long time. oh yeah this douch baggy guy is in my class. maybe i should give him a chance but he's a big attention hog. i duno.

came back home, went to go buy books with ann then got some frozen yogurt with mochi toppings! YUM! came home again and took a nice nap. later tony came over and helped make lasagna. a vegetarian one and a meat one, it was good. we just sat around watching heroes and eating. it was relaxing.

it's been a long day. i got some reading done for ochem, wow i'm reading for classes.

serious update

i have no idea where i left off so i'll just guess.

move-in was really fun. i met my new roommate and even had a tiny shindig. at midnight it was my birthday so we all drank. my body couldn't even take a whole bottle of cider, Mika my new roommate drank the rest of it.

my actual birthDAY we just chilled in the day time. at night tony and liv came over and everyone got drunk. we drank all the stuff i brought from the UK, tuaca, tequila rose and some people drank absinthe. i threw up because earlier we went to elephant bar and i ate too much. i didn't feel like crap or anything i was just a little nauseas. after i threw up i felt a lot better. after a little while i stopped drinking. i didn't think my body could take it anymore. there was a party in another apartment, i checked it out and it was at andy bear's apartment. i actually just walked into a party and knew people. hahhaha! i caught someone peeing on the side of the house, it was really dark but i just shouted "is that someone peeing or it is just a shadow?" it was a person peeing. gross. went back to our apartment some drank somemore and we just watched tv. i think everyone slept over that night to make sure no one would get arrested walking home.

next day liv and apartment people went to target and the mall. i actually found some office stuff at target. i got some pens, a notebook and a sign that says "that's what she said". at the mall we played a game where we found some ugly clothes and just tried them on. it was pretty hilarious.

the days before class where pretty chill, didn't really do much. i bought a bike that's pink. i didn't have a choice it was 40$ so watever. get what i can take.

first day of class was watever my lab was cancelled and all i had to do was go to my intro to psych class. filled with freshmen. watever. after class i filled out an application for a job and went back home. my butt really hurts from my bike.

next day was a bit more eventful. i had an 8am class. it was in campbell so there were about 800 students in my bio class. geez that's a lot of people. i also realized that i need slightly stronger glasses. oh well. i can see well enough for now. next was organic chem, a lot of bad things were said about this professor, her being mean and stuff. but i thought she was fine and reasonable for what she was asking from us. i had an hour break but i was too lazy to ride my bike home and abck. so i went to the ucen and found a puzzle i could try to solve. did that for a while and went to class. i've never really had a class in that building so i was surprised at the chairs. they had padding on the bottom but the back had no cusion whatsoever. it hurt to sit there. i rode back home and nathan caught up to me, he actually scared me. since i did not see anyone i knew all day. we had a small chat about the office and we headed off for different ways.

yesterday had been a lazy day. didn't really do much. stayed around the house and played some rockband.

Mail Time!!!

Nowadays, i'm pretty excited when the mail comes, but i'm usually met with disappointment. I am waiting for indication on which freaking apartment i'm supposed to live in. There's only two more weeks until i am actually supposed to move in. i haven't done the final touches of packing which is bad because i always forget something at home. then i have to worry about financial aid, because the state hasn't approved the budget and i haven't gotten my cal grant money, which covers ALL my tuition. gahh!!!

But i did get some good news in the mail today. i thought i was getting a piece of junk mail but i looked through it anyways, and it was a check. i was wondering why i was getting paid, i haven't done anything in a while. but it was real because it had my social security number. then i remembered i had to fill out a bunch of paper work for the Weezer music video. that's why they wanted us to check out. i forgot to check out when i left. so i only got paid for 3 hours. i stayed for like 8 hours though. i wasn't expecting to get paid so this is a happy surprise. i'm a paid actor beeytoch!

Digital TV Converter

i don't know why it took me so long to install these new Digital TV Converters. they are AMAZING! the tv in my room has had no remote control for the longest time. the converter comes with a remote to control the channels very similar to cable. it also has to ability to act as a regular tv remote. that got me pumped up. i also like the channel list they give you to search through. you can see what tv shows are on and what's next. a major plus is the closed captioning, it's very clear and is pretty accurrate, before the tv's CC would mess up before long. the additional channels don't hurt either, especially for someone that's lived without cable for a long time. my channel 2 is also not shitty, maybe i can watch so new shows on CBS, i've been missing out on that channel for a long time. it's actually not bulky at all.

maybe now i can move the tv further away from my bed.

on the display part there's a little signal thing like i'm trying to get reception on my phone or on wifi. also has the accurate time.

today i got my 113 picture i printed from snapfish.com, the pictures were cheap but it's the shipping that kills you. i had to organize and remember which came before what. the pictures came out weird, not pixelized but maybe kinda blurry-ish. oh well. i'll order more prints before the summer is over.

tonight i went to Antho's birthday bowling thing with Helen and Devin. we shared a lane with two other guys. Helen said i flirted with them, but she thought they were gay. she said that one was wearing a V-neck shirt and he was gay for the other one. i'm not so great at bowling, it hurt my wrist, no wonder those pro-bowlers wear wrist protectors(?). it was really fun, the pizza smelled like barf and there was tropical punch for all! i had a fun time. the time really flew and i had a good time.

afterwards i got some in-n-out, yay my favorite!

P.S. the trouble maker weezer video comes out september 29th, i can't wait!

sesame st upgrade

Right now i'm watching Sesame street and it's really been upgraded. i just saw David Beckham and he didn't sound as bad as i thought he would. I'm watching this sketch called 30 Rocks, Liz Lemon is a lemon! Jack is a puppet person, it's really strange. the other day i stumbled onto Sesame street again, because i don't have cable, and i saw Will Arnett!!!

Weezer!!!!

i've been really excited for going to the music video for Weezer. i wasn't 100% sure i was going to be in it so i didn't get my hopes up.

this morning Helen drove me and Cynthia to the LA Forum in Inglewood for the shoot. i was so happy that she drove us, rides were the iffy part of our plan. so Helen dropped us off and we wander to the tent that's set up, this was around noon. we had to fill out a lot of paperwork, i wasn't sure if it was for the music video or the world record people. but once we did that we just chilled a little bit. when we got to the parking lot they were in the middle of shooting something. i have no idea what though.

i'm not sure if i can reveal anything about the content of the video because i just browsed over the contract so i'll just generalize stuff. basically setting a lot of world records. me and cynthia got in front of crowd so we made sure we got into the music video. it was just so cool that we were so close to them. i even got a picture with Brian, but he was wandering a lot throughout the day. Pat was the most socialible of the group. during takes we would just talk to him and it was really cool. Rivers was really quiet, but i saw his new baby, she's sooo cute. i didn't take pictures because that just crosses the privacy line, like a lot. we were in the sun a lot, but i had a good time. Scott was pretty cool, not really talkative either but gave us smiles. Brian is just a hippy. i wish i took more pictures but no cameras on set.

there weren't that many people either, i thought there was going to be like 1,000 people there were only 250-300 people. i like that number, less people more band access, just the way i like it. during the day there were raffles, neither cynthia nor i won. the nice thing about this shoot was that they actually feed us. they provided pizza, lemonade/water, sunblock and some where to sit in the shade. i thought we were just going to be sitting around on the floor in the sun with no food or water provided.

some guys were setting a world record, playing guitar hero for 12 hours. but it's the NEW guitar hero with guitar, vocals and drums. i liked the drums because it had cymbals but it seems like it would be easier to break. the mic is a lot more sensitive or more telling than the rockband mic. after the 12 hours, the guys smashed the guitars to pieces. very sturdy i must say, they needed to give it at least two whacks to the ground to break.

the day ended with a custard pie fight. but since it was for the world record we all had to take the pie in the face. me and cynthia found each other and we pied each other. but we were very hesistant. bad idea. luckily it was the last event of the day. grosss....i had custard and pie crust in my hair on the way home.

i think i'm sunburned, dang. other than that it was an awesome day. i wonder when the music video comes out.

ordinary fun

i thought that today i was going to go to six flags but devin changed his mind and we didn't go. instead i just stayed at home. i cleaned up the whole house and watched some tv. i had sesame street on while cleaning and Will Arnett was on, playing a magician named Max. it was a nice surprise.

me and helen were bored so we went to go get sushi again. helen gave me one of her bags, it's super cute and sturdy. she said that the bag's opening is too small. perfect for me! so this time i got the chicken teryaki which comes with a salad and some california rolls. it was really good. on the way to the bathroom, i passed some my age looking guys. nothing special, one of the guys turns around and i shot him a smile, out of habit. once past them i regreted it. it seemed creepy of me, instant regret, hahahah! i didn't even turn to see his reaction. i'm a weirdo!

we didn't know what to do so we went to michael's and spent a lot of time there. in the end we bought some string and candy. went back to helen's house and made some friendship bracelets. didn't come out so well but we still wore them.

Hanging out with friends!

Yesterday i hung out with Helen and Devin at Nickle Nickle. we had a battle royale throwing those popping things around at each other using games for hiding behind. i was laughing really hard but i lost, i got hit in the head by those poppy things. after work we went to in-and-out. i just got a cheeseburger because i didn't think my body was ready for a double double. also got a small pink lemonade. i devoured that cheeseburger, it was so delicious. i've missed hamburgers. i didn't get fries because i didn't like them too much before going, and now i like thick cut fries the best. the lemonade was really good too, in england they don't have pink lemonade. their lemonade is actually sprite, what a sad way to find out.

today i went out with Helen, Devin and Lissette, Cynthia couldn't go because her house had plumbing problems. we went and got some sushi at wasabi, mmm... i got a crunch roll and tomato salad. oh how i've missed sushi as well. we had a lot of time to kill so we made a quick stop at Helen's house to look at her newly painted room. then off to Target! i've missed the dollar aisle, i put a lot of stuff in my basket which i eventually consolidated because i shouldn't spend too much money. i bought two one-dollar photo albums, i figured i needed them. also bought a really nice photo album for 8.50 that holds 160 photos, this will be my summer 08 album. plus some cute sticky notes. yay!

before target we were planning on watching tropic thunder, but we totally forgot about it and time flew. so we caught Pineapple Express instead. i liked the movie, it was really different. it was action, comedy, with a touch of chick flick? there were some sensitive parts which was surprising to me. it was a different kind of funny but funny nonetheless. James Franco was brilliant, though his teeth bothered me a bit. hahahhaha! i loved the fight scene and the running in the forest scene.

last day in London and Brighton

August 14th (Thursday)
after everybody turned in their work for class, we all (Ann, Ruhi, Carolyn, Emily, Margaret and I) headed to London for the IceBar. we had some extra time before going so we went to Oxford st. where they have all the major stores on one street. shopped and browsed a little bit. we passed marks & spencers and saw that they had afternoon tea. we all hadn't had that specific tea and went inside to enjoy ourselves. our tea came with sandwiches and scones. it was a really big meal. right after we headed to IceBar which is a bar made from ice sponsored by Absolut. it cost 15 pounds and that includes a warm cape plus one double shot drink.

we go look for it and we could NOT find it, i was starting to panick because i'm a time freak. but eventually we found it and were on time. we all got these capes that made us all look good, thrown over our clothes. inside it was freezing, duh, but quite small. it wasn't too bad with those fetching capes, we all took our time getting drinks. we had some fun taking pictures and drinking our drinks. man mine was so strong, i can still feel it thinking about it now. bleq. it was fun taking pictures, our drinks were in cups made from ice. we started playing bumper cars with our glasses.

afterwards we met up with the other asian group, i'd call them the more hardcore asian group. of course we would meet in china town. i wanted one last pork bun but they ran out, sad. but i soon got a steamed pork bun, just as good. hung around with them for a little bit and we had to leave. lots of sad goodbyes, aww. the rest of us went to go get some food at a Hong Kong cafe place, the food was pretty good.

our last thing for London was getting autographs for me and ann's wicked program. basically we got the whole main cast, all except Fiyero! i was reallllly mad about it. come on, all except him, ugh! we had a pretty nice ride back on the train back to Brighton. London's been good to us, it was a sad goodbye.

August 15 (Friday)
our last day in Brighton. this day was truly the saddest day of them all. we all made a list of what we wanted to do in Brighton. usually when this happens we would only get 3 or 4 things done. but i was in charge for the day so we got everything done. We first went into the North Lanes for handmade fudge, Sejuice smoothies, and Frozen yogurt at Lick. quite productive i'd say, i also bought some candy and the first harry potter book. Off to the mall, borders, primark and peacock. we all found something each of us liked and bought. besides primark stuff, i bought a really nice wallet and got a student discount woo! at primark i bought a bomber jacket for 11pounds. not too shabby. me and margaret went back to our rooms and put our stuff down while the rest sat around at the beach.

we all met up at Donatello's, me and margaret shared a vegetarian lasagna, wasn't what we were expecting, but it was still really good. too bad we didn't have our first waiter. good stuff. afterward we all headed down to the pier. ate some donuts, gambled a bit, bad idea. found a karaoke place on the pier. we didn't have to pay to do it so we went and sang a bit. i got a little too excited for it and ran on stage, tripped because the step is decieving, and ate it. hahahha i played it off and no one really saw, ahhahahah! after we went back to our flats and packed up.

we met up again later that night to chill a bit. then we all said our goodbyes, super sad. awwww!

Taking a little break from typing

Right now I'm trying Word's version of blogger, apparently I can type on a blog word document and then it transfers to my blog. We'll see.

Anyways I have 1900/2000words I'm so close but not there yet. My mind is stumped on what to write. I think this final essay is going to suck ass!! Whatever! Tomorrow after people's done turning in stuff we're all going to London. I'm going to make a list of stuff I want to do, last minute stuff I didn't get to do. Like going to platform 9 ¾ I haven't done that yet!!! I also need to make a few more purchases as gifts, I feel like I'm buying too much, but it's okay because I like the stuff I bought for people, hahahha!

Oh so much to do but so little time. I feel like I should have done MORE stuff while I was abroad. It's very bittersweet for me to leave, I want to stay in England because the people are awesome and I like the atmosphere but at the same time I miss all the people at home (and of course the food!).

While researching my topic I found this picture. That thing in the background is the burned down West pier in Brighton. And that stencil, is by fucking BANKSY! Ann and I are going to search for it on Friday! That is soooo freaking crazy, apparently there are more in Brighton, but this is I guess easier to find. Hopefully it still exists.

P.S. i'm checking my blog and it worked! but the picture didn't go up, that's okay though. like if i travel in a place without internet i can still keep a blog.

Sunday Stroll

one form of procrastination this weekend was a "sunday stroll". i call it a gentle hike. i just wore a tank top, capris, and tennis shoes. i brought a cardigan just in case. before we went on our stroll i went to the student store and bought a huge bottle of water. it was relatively cheap for its size so i brought it along, figured i'd need it.

the sun was shinning and it was breezy. perfect weather for a gentle hike. i've never been on a hike or a stroll through the countryside. it was beautiful and wasn't too bad. just a bunch of steep hills and lots of cow poos. it got really windy the higher we went. my hair was just fucked from that point on. i had insoles in my shoes so it wasn't bad. but we did walk for around 2 hours. that's a lot for me. i stepped in cow poo, yuck.


our guide, michael poked at cow piles, it was disgusting! in the end it was sorta worth it. we finished at a nice tea place. on the way to the tea place we found some horses, they were so friendly and soft, i fed one an apple when i wasn't supposed to. i also saw a cat on a leash, hahhaha, but the cat was reallllly soft and like watever about the group of teenagers surrounding it. off to eat! i got a Farmer's breakfast: 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, beans and some tea. it was good after that hike. i even forgot to take a picture of the food, i just dug in.

the walk was refreshing and i did something i should have done while here in England.

today i looked on my leg and there's like a rash-like thing. doesn't itch when i don't touch it. but it just looks weird.

i bought the vodka for home to show how good the alcohol is in England and WKD is REALLY good. i just haven't tried the red one. i hope i don't get it taken away from me at the airport. i am flying to a place where it is illegal for me to be in possession of alcohol. we'll see.

weird thing is that i didn't even get carded. this is at a grocery store that has a huge sign saying that if you look under 21, you'll get carded. has my looks already gone?

procrastination

well nothing is due yet, but i figured that i shouldn't do it last minute. i have a 1,000word paper and a 2,000word paper due on thursday. the 1,000word paper is just about a art gallery we went to and the 2,000word paper is about "anything art related". the vagueness of that topic scares me. i haven't procrastinated everything, i have started putting together my 20min presentation, it's a shame i get stage fright. i'm going to take public speaking classes winter quarter if i can get in.

what my procrastination entails:
-started packing for home, i don't think i'll need that extra duffel bag i bought, dang.
-made lists of stuff to do here, at home and stuff i want
-cleaning/organizing stuff/paperwork
-ate, a lot hahahah
-spending too much time reading tuckermax.com (seriously this site is addicting)
-account for my spending for the last week or so because i stopped
-searched for ideas on redesigning my guitar, since i made it fugly and i want to pick it up again
-washing the sink full of dishes, i hate doing this but i was bored
-staying up all night web chatting with helen
-watching the WHOLE 5hours or so of the Olympic opening ceremony
-writing on post-its the stuff i have to do/count down of days till stuff i due
-checking facebook and myspace every 5min or so
-thinking and typing out this blog topic
-probably going to go on a hike tomorrow with the school, i don't even go on hikes!
-browsing a lot of different websites

i don't WANT to procrastination but it's like something inside me just likes to pull me away from it. i have the want but not the will.

it's basically a site where Tucker Max himself writes recollections of stuff that's happened to him. he is such a jerk, asshole, whatever you may-guy but i gotta say it's the funniest thing i've ever read so far. i haven't read all the stories yet but the funniest one is "Tucker tries buttsex; hilarity does not ensue". it was so gross but so funny at the same time. i think he's a very talented story teller. reading this blog, you already know i suck at telling stories.

i don't laugh this hard about things i read. man, give it a try, if it's not to your liking stop reading.

Clubbing fun + Brighton

last night i went out with my group to go clubbing. i was kinda not up for it because it was raining and there was a lot of lightning, but oddly no real thunder. but i decided to go since everyone was going. wore a primark shirt i just bought earlier that day, turquoise with a girls face and some gold foil, i think it looked cool. plus i brought the pink wristlet purse that i also bought at primark. i claimed i could use it as a weapon. i wore capris in case it did rain and i didn't want my jeans to soak the rain water. it actually wasn't raining outside just lightning. we decided to go to Casablanca, a spanish jazz club.

well we got off the wrong stop, my bad, oh well. we were walking and weren't 100% sure we were going the right direction. then we see Zack Efron look alike, Ryan, and he was going to Casablanca too. the weird thing is that the night before i said my goodbyes to him and was pretty sure i wasn't going to see him, but that night he said "you never know". so that was weird. he got us there in time to get in for free and we were a bit lost. there was a spanish club floor and below it was the disco room. we went to the disco room, it was cool because they played familiar songs and we had some space to ourselves. i wasn't feeling up for drinking so i only got half a pint of strongbow. my body doesn't want alcohol anymore since i threw up.

we sat a booth for a bit and something crawled on Ann. i saw what it was, since i was sitting next to her. it was the most disgusting thing i've ever seen here in the UK. it was a spider but with really thick black legs, and it was like half black and half white. so i freaked out, and so did everyone else. then we decided to not sit anywhere. we just stood around. some people i knew came into the club with their group. so it was a bunch of americans hanging out.


i went with Ruhi to the potty and i waited outside for her. Zack Efron started a conversation with me, we talked a lot, i don't know how to break off a conversation with him. apparently we took too long, and the girls found us. since they came i wanted to break off but he just kept talking. i even tried to get him to talk to the other girls from the other group. i said "why don't you talk to the ladies in the other group" and he said "they're kinda weird" which i thought was weird. hahahhaha, i was trying really hard to break off convo with him because i wanted to talk to my friends. he's hot and all but i don't want to isolate my friends. sometimes the whole group can talk to the guy that i find and it's better that way. but zack efron was only talking to me. hmmm... hahahah at one point i put my wristlet purse on my head while i was talking to him.

anyways, he said that a band was coming in and that they're really good. he was right about that, although they played 70's songs they were good. the singer was pretty good looking and the band was talented. we danced the night away. there were some funky weird dancers out there. especially one guy, i have no idea what he was doing. he was freaking me out. it was like he was swaying with the music but way too slowly. i think he was high or on drugs.

at one point we were all once again with zac efron on the dance floor. he was like by himself, i don't know what to think of him. maybe he's just a guy who wants to make friends. because i know a girl from the other group was hitting up on him, but he told me she's just a friend. well there were some freaky dancers and we used him to block us from the weirds. i went to get water and brought it back to the group, the water tasted so disgusting. something was definitely wrong with it. zac efron put his beer bottle on my head because i told him to put it away, it was empty.

dancing to 70s music is so strange, i did miss hip-hop thank god it wasn't freaking house music/techo. we ran into the guy from pub crawl that Ruhi danced with. it was awkward for her but he didn't talk to her, and vice versa. i think he didn't talk to her because she didn't talk to him. he said something about techno, and i'm like "HECK NO TO TECHNO" i really hate that stuff. that guy called me crazy! i said that i wasn't and that i was just drunk! it's different! i was busy wondering where his friend Sam was, he was the hottie of the two. but the other girls thought he was cute. i dunno he's not my taste, i like dorky guys but a differnt type of dorky guys.

even after the half pint, i didn't feel too well. but i was a tiny bit buzzed, not drunk. i should get drunk anymore. i think my body's like "jeany, you have to stop drinking!" and i'm like "no i wanna drink a bit" and body's like "fine but only a little bit, don't get drunk!" i would have drank some water and maybe that would have made me feel better but the water was really gross and yucky. but then my body hasn't been feeling so well after that night of barfing. i don't feel sick, i feel like something is wrong but i dont know what. i might have to get a physical when i get home or school watever.

we left Casablanca at like 1:30am, we took the night bus home and i was kinda disgusted because this couple was making out and i sat in front of the security cam and it would flash them making out. gross and it was this creepy guy too from sussex.

the next day i had class i thought i would be dead tired because i finished my homework at like 2:30am. but i was fine the next day, class just dragged on. i'm very jealous of Jeff's eyelashes, they're thick and they curl perfectly. looks a bit funny on Jeff but i wish i had those feature. after class i picked up my learning diary from the first session. no marks or anything. lame.

at 3pm i went shopping with Ruhi, Carolyn and Ann. we went to the North Laines, lots of cute tiny shops. we finally got Sejuice, apparently the best smoothie place in Brighton. it was good i just don't like seeds in my drink. the straws were pretty spiffy too. Ruhi got a smoothie with Acai berry which made her drink taste like lipstick, hahaha! i bought some candy and the most english pimpin belt ever. pictured here with my pimp(?) pose. i love the belt, it's red and has like the queen's crown on it. five pounds, i think it's a good investment.

after shopping we walked all the way to The Mock Turtle for some tea. Ann saw our waitress the day before and she gave us each an extra scone. so a total of 8! geez it was a lot, we can barely finish one scone. we were sooo full and wanted to walk it off. the beach was really close so we walked there and sat on the pebbly beach. we threw some rocks for a bit, the rocks tickled my feet while sitting down. then me and Ruhi headed for the water to dip our feet/wash them. it was so painful, there were little sharp rocks and large round rocks. it was somewhat worth it. hahhhahah! i had a good time.

Wall-E, Throwing up, and Primark

after finally having a break from paris, me and Ann went to go watch Wall-E on Monday. that movie made me cry so many times, i'm such a baby. it had some really political ideas established. i think everyone should watch Wall-E, it's so freaking cute. i want to watch it again when i get home.

so yesterday i had a plan to get Ann drunk at karaoke at the King and Queen pub. sadly this did not happen, Ann just got sick-ish. for the first time i drank liquor before cider, the slight headache i already had became much worse. i didn't feel so good, i just had one cocktail and a pint of strongbow. i figured i had to drink water and eat. so that's what i did when i got home soon after. i made myself eat a quesadilla and some fries. then i felt really nauseous. i thought that the food had to settle so i just sad in my room. so basically i threw up everything i just ate. gross. i haven't thrown up in such a long time. and it's not like the alcohol went with it. gross. but i felt much better after puking, if i didn't i think i'd die. not a good experience.

today i went to a museum with some people in my class. samantha, mirium and jeff came along. it was fun company. the museum realllllly sucked, i don't know how a museum becomes like that. i really did not like it. but after Sam said that we should go get some ice cream, everyone thought this was a good idea. she said that we should go to Lick, a frozen yogurt place. i thought we were going to get lost, but surprisingly we didn't. i got a medium frozen yogurt with kiwi, mango and passion fruit. yum! after we walked to the cheap luggage place Sam and Mirium had to get a duffel bag because they bought a lot of stuff. then Sam suggested Primark. Jeff didn't want to go because he doesn't take that long to shop, so we "dropped him off" at Borders. i spent so much at Primark, 25.75 pounds. it might have been more but sometimes when they scan the stuff it's cheaper than what the tag says. it's never more expensive than the tag. i bought presents for people and some clothes for my mom and myself. i got like 10pieces of clothing and accessories.

walking to the bus stop to go back home some stand was selling a container full of small strawberries, it looked good so i bought some. they were pretty good. i'm usually cautious of strawberries, because they sometimes end up really sour.

long Paris blog

Getting there (July 31):
right after Ann's class Tiffanie, Kathie and I all hustled to the Brighton station, i needed to buy a ticket to get into the station and get the tickets from the machine. i didn't buy a ticket on the train but i was buying it at the station, the guy still yelled at me. at least i paid for it. so we missed our train to london because the stupid ticket machines took too long or didn't work. we waited 20mins for the next train, wasn't too bad. we got to London and had to take the tube but Kathie and Ann had to top up their oyster cards because they didn't have enough money to go through. whatever i had allowed extra time just in case of this. we had to run to the office/ticket place and Ann hurt her knee doing that. we get to the eurostar with like 10min before the train departs, but we were supposed to be there 30min before departure. so we missed our train, some guy signed our tickets and told us to get another ticket for the next paris train. we get the the service place and the lady tells me that i have to pay an extra 50 pounds, i was shocked, i didn't see the others bust out their credit cards so i asked them, the manager just told the lady to waive it because we were technically early. we are lucky the manager was at bay. we got a different ticket and waited for it.

got on the train and i tried to sleep for a little bit, i was sleeping on my fist and woke up with drool on it, gross, hahhaha! but what woke me up was the rain slapping across the train, the train was going so fast the rain sounded like loud rice crispies. i should have taken dramamine, i got a bit nausious. finally got to paris! had to get a taxi to our hotel, we got into a mercedes taxi, but we got totally ripped off. freaking 24 euros, i know the cab driver took the long way to the hotel and he knew we were tourists. finally got to the hotel and checked in, the room was so tiny. yeah we got three beds but one of them was a bunk bed. it was just so tiny i laughed. at least we could see the Eiffle Tower if we leaned out the window a bit. man was i tired.

Paris binge (August 1):
i really wanted to go to the Louvre in the morning so we got up early and went straight to the Louvre. we were super hungry so we tried to look for food but everything in the Louvre, food-wise, was closed. went outside and found small place. i got a mushroom quiche, a raspberry tart and a drink. they were both good and filling, but the tart was amazing! we ate across the street from the Louvre. nice view and weather. it wasn't a free day so we payed like 9 euros to get in. i walked it all in 1.5 hours, my feet hurt at this time, but i decided to get to those smaller rooms so i walked some more. after this we headed to the Notre Dame, on the way i got a nutella crepe, it was really good but they put way too much nutella. walked through the Notre Dame then off to the river cruise. it was really nice if i had a sweater but i didn't bring it. but i got to see a bunch of sights from the river.

needed a break so we went back to the hotel to rest a bit. on the way i talked to some cute guys from manchester. too bad i didn't catch their names but we got to our hotel and looked for some place to eat. we found a chinese food place, it was really good but they charged per 100g no wonder they were packing on the food. really good and full.

went to the arch de triomphe and climbed a million stairs, but it was worth the view. we went around sunset and saw the Eiffle Tower light up in front of our eyes. it was beautiful and bright. basically got kicked out and wandered on to Champ Elysees the shopping street of paris. lots of brand stores and car stores. tried to find the Eiffle tower but didn't make it just chilled at a cafe. i got a diablo and tasting it was like a shirley temple. yum still. drinks are so expensive in paris.

went home at 1am, but the buses stopped running at 10pm, so we had to hail a taxi but waiting for one to come by was scarrrry! the taxi was a lot but at least we knew why we were charged the amount. so at this time we knew we had a curfew to make. on the way home i saw a prostitute, and it was a man dressed as a woman.

i was tired as hell when we got to the hotel so when some french guy said "ni hao" to me i just told him to "shut up". racism is not my friend. tiffanie was sooo angry about it but she didn't hear it when that guy said it.

The real france? (august 2):
t was raining when we went out and sorta depressing. i was super hungry again so i just got a crepe with sugar, it was freaking amazing. i liked it with sugar more than nutella. nutella is just a bit too much for a crepe. we ate at a cafe on a side street, they spoke no english but helped us out a bit. i got an apple tart with ice cream. the ice cream was awesome but the tart was bland. we then went to sacre coeur which is a big church on a hiljj. we found a bunch of cute eateries around this area. i got a crepe and some fries, really good stuff. at one place i got a pink macaroon filled with delicious jelly. we headed to the hotel to get ready for our french dinner. we ate at the cheapest place to save money we all got the duck magret with peach which came with pasta that tasted weird. it just took fucking forever to get the check and we had to make our curfew. barely made it to the bus to go home. in the hotel we watched some weird french challenge show, it was good. then we watched some story of a asian lady maid who wanted to work for a family but she changed her mind and it was just weird. tiffanie was angry at the depiction of the chinese lady and was yelling at the tv. tired as fuck after this day.

Goodbye france (august 3):
woke up early but i was the last to rise. quickly checked out and went to the Eiffle Tower. you could walk up or take the elevator. the others took the elevator but i walked up it. it was difficult but i made it. freaking 700 stairs! i felt accomplished and really good about myself. of course this is with all my stuff i brought to france. i felt like a backpacker which i think is cool. the view was amazing and i did write my name on the effile tower, too bad i put the wrong date, oh well, hahaha. i also ate a crossiant on the eiffle tower, how french. lots of people started coming so i went back down. very long queues for the elevator.

Ann and i headed to the Orsay museum it was a free day so i thought i'd check it out. on the way we found a cute cafe and got a savory crepe. it was basically a crepe with pepperoni, chirizo, cheese, and other stuff piled on. it was reallly good and at the end i got a tuna sandwich and eclair to go. the orsay had the longest line ever, i wasn't going to stand in that. instead we went to another church we were both tired as hell so we stopped at a park and chilled. we just sat around and ate the tuna sandwich, it was really good and on a baguette. the eclair was amazing as well.

went back to champs elysees and met up with tiffianie and kathie. me and ann just watched people while waiting. lots of people had really nice shoes. actually ate at mcdonald's and got a happy meal. came with a yogurt drink yum. more people watching but on the less classy side of the street. hahahha! finally went back for one last sugar crepee to eat. then off to the eurostar. we went outside and drank some drinks at a cafe, a classical french experience. once on the train i knocked out! and just slept in an awkward position.

tired as hell but it was worth it. yay!
